Safety is a certainty
At Durkan we are absolutely committed to ensuring that our employees are treated with dignity and respect, treated fairly and in an approach, which will support the continuous practicability of our health, safety and environmental objectives.
Our in-house HS&E Working Group has further developed our Take Five initiative to bring about practical solutions to health, safety and environmental problems and highlight the benefits of a joint approach on finding new ways to tackle risks at work.
This common set of goals will help everyone to always be at their best, prioritise their tasks and help to reduce incidents and injuries on our sites.
In 2011 RoSPA awarded Durkan the Gold Medal for Occupational Health and Safety. This Sustained Achievement Award is given in recognition of achieving high standards of Occupational Health and Safety across the business over the last five years.
The Gold Medal Award is only awarded to those who achieve four consecutive Gold Awards; previous Gold Awards were achieved in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010.
