Danny joined Durkan in Dublin in 1983 as a site technician; in 1985 he moved to the Group's New York office where he spent 3 years mainly site based, working on residential housing projects in Westchester County NY.
In 1988 Danny joined the London office, where he was Head of Sales and Marketing; he was appointed as a Director in 1992 and became Managing Director of the Group's private development arm Durkan Estates.
Danny was appointed Executive Chairman of Durkan Holdings in 2010, following the retirement of his father and founder William Durkan.
Since beginning his career in the construction industry as a surveyor over 40 years ago, Robert has also gained experience in the roles of estimator and construction manager, leading to his appointment as Commercial Director of Durkan in 1985. He was appointed Managing Director in 1988.
Robert is responsible for all Durkan construction projects and is actively involved with all aspects of the company business.
Fraser was appointed in July 2012 to head up both Durkan Estates and Durkan Partnerships which undertakes the company’s private residential development and joint venture development with Registered Providers and other public sector organisations. He has worked in residential development for 25 years running both publically quoted and private companies as well as having his own consultancy. One of his strengths is understanding the different drivers and cultures between the various stakeholders within a partnership and works closely with all parties to ensure a successful project delivery.
Jim joined Durkan in 1978 as a Contract Surveyor working on a selection of refurbishment and new build schemes for both Local Authority and RSL clients. Jim was appointed Operations Director for Durkan in February 2005. Jim’s responsibility now extends throughout all Durkan production departments from estimating and surveying through to construction and customer care.
In 1985 Brian was employed by Durkan as Surveyor and swiftly moved through the ranks to become Chief Surveyor. In November 2004, Brian was appointed to the Board as Surveying Director and is responsible for the Surveying Department. Brian oversees the preparation of project cost reports and, working in conjunction with our estimating teams, ensures that all financial forecasts for Durkan development projects are produced in line with scheme timetables.
Gary has in excess of 30 years’ experience working with public and private sector clients. His background in site, project and contracts management has instilled a keen eye for detail.
Gary’s responsibilities include the overall management of new build projects with an emphasis on delivering completed schemes that delight our clients. Gary stewards his teams to ensure that our core values of safety, quality, programme completion and client satisfaction are met on all projects.
Shaun joined Durkan in 2008. His responsibilities include overall management of construction projects specialising in the refurbishment of public and commercial buildings along with housing and education refurbishment works.
Shaun oversees his team ensuring that projects are completed safely and to the client's satisfaction.
Daren joined Durkan in January 2007 following a unique career in both land and commercial property sales, rentals and acquisitions. Daren's experience enables Durkan to create valuable opportunities for the delivery of all tenures of affordable housing. Daren is charged with working with our public sector clients; and heads our business development team strengthening our relationships with our clients' as well as overseeing our PR and marketing.
Martin joined Durkan in May 2006 as a Senior Development Manager and was promoted to Development Director in February 2007. Martin leads a successful team responding to pre-qualification notices and invitations to tender. He is responsible for the production of high quality bid documentation, utilising the knowledge and experience gained by Durkan in the successful completion of many major regeneration schemes for our RSL Landlords and Local Authority clients.
Having trained with a medium size firm of Chartered Accountants in Dublin, Alan joined the Durkan Irish operation in 1978 before transferring to Durkan UK in 1987, where he currently holds the position of Group Finance Director.
With over 18 years' experience in health and safety management Ian has enjoyed developing the Durkan company strategy from first principles and has raised the bar towards first class performance.
Ian has responsibility for delivering effective health, safety and environment management throughout Durkan ensuring the implementation of activities are conducted in a timely and safe manner and ensures that appropriate HS&E policies, systems, standards, guidelines, procedures and documents are in place to fulfil the requirements of the Safety and Environmental Management Systems and Company Defined Practices.
Ian has provided health and safety leadership and established and maintained appropriate resources through staff planning, budgeting, resourcing and the effective use of staff and external contractor, agency, and expert resources.
Jonathan joined Durkan in April 2008 and as Investment Director has overall responsibility for a mixed commercial investment portfolio located throughout the UK.
Jonathan is a highly regarded property professional with a 20 year track record in both consultancy and in-house investment directorship. He has a high level understanding of all aspects of commercial and property law.
