Durkan was founded in London in 1963 by William Durkan, the present day Chairman. The family-owned construction services company is recognised as one of the leading major contractors and providers of affordable housing in the South East of England together with an enviable track record in the community, education and healthcare sectors.

Durkan undertakes new build projects, major estate regeneration projects, conversions and we have developed an excellent reputation for our work refurbishing homes with residents in occupation. In the health and education sectors we are continuing to build schools, nurseries and health facilities as well as student and health worker accommodation. Our reputation is based on superb quality, careful attention to detail and excellent design. We have long-term partnerships with over 90% of our clients and believe that our record speaks for itself.
The private residential and commercial property development arm of Durkan is known as Durkan Estates. As well as developing new homes on exclusive developments, this arm has an established reputation specialising in the refurbishment and conversion of existing prestigious residential and commercial buildings.
