Durkan enters Slough success story with Mosaic Apartments

Famous for being the location of the hit TV series “The Office” and for being a new town next to old Windsor, Slough is fast developing a fresh identity, that of one of the South East’s economic success stories. To support the increasing need for housing in the town, Durkan Estates have announced the opening of the Sales and Marketing Suite of their latest residential development, The Mosaic Apartments, on the High Street, opposite Thames Valley University.

Slough is now home to approximately 3,000 businesses employing 75,000 people and unemployment stands at only 2%. This ecomomic success is continuing with the construction of Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport, which has created 5,000 additional jobs in construction alone.

In addition, 2007 sees the £17.5m ‘Heart of Slough’ regeneration project, which aims to rejuvenate 12 ha of land in the town centre. At the heart of the regeneration programme will be the building of more than 1,300 new homes, 22,000 sq m of office space, public recreation areas and a plethora of new community facilities.

Daniel Durkan, of Durkan Estates comments: “We are excited to be part of the ongoing regeneration of Slough into one of the key regional business hubs close to central London. The Mosaic Apartments provides an excellent base for professionals working in Slough, or commuting into London, offering a new home at a fraction of London prices.”

The 7 storey Mosaic Apartments is a stunning selection of 166 one and two bedroom apartments. The stylish new development, designed by Hamilton Associates, will be built in three phases with the first homes ready for occupation in April 2007.

The Mosaic Apartments are situated just minutes from Slough's mainline station, ideal for professionals who need direct access to London Paddington in as little as 20 minutes. Soon, London’s Cross Rail Link will provide direct access from the west of London to the City and the East. For international travel, Heathrow airport is less than 20 minutes away and Gatwick, City, Luton and Birmingham airports are all within an hours drive from Slough. For those who drive, the nearby M4 motorway leads to the M25 & M40.

Daniel Durkan continues: “The outstanding location of The Mosaic Apartments on the High Street coupled with the ongoing development of Slough offers a fantastic opportunity for property investors and owner occupiers alike. As part of the launch of The Mosaic Apartments, Durkan Estates is delighted to offer 5% deposit paid* as well at £500** contribution to legal fees”.

Slough boasts a vibrant and modern community with a fusion of eclectic cultures. With shops, bars, pubs, nightclubs, gyms and cinemas all jostling for position just minutes from your home, there is always something to do. Schools in Slough are amongst the most improved in the country with over 35 to choose from, and work has already begun on a £44 million scheme to provide three brand new state-of-the-art schools.

At The Mosaic Apartments the rooms are spacious and feature stylish interiors that suit a modern lifestyle. The designer made ‘Pepper’ kitchen comes complete with an integrated Electrolux Fridge/Freezer or fridge with freezer compartment. The bathrooms feature luxury white Roca sanitary ware with steel baths and over bath showers. There is chrome ironmongery and Walnut Veneer flooring with under-floor heating throughout, a built-in wardrobe to the master bedroom and plumbing for a washer/dryer in the hallway cupboard. Built around a communal courtyard with outdoor seating, many of the apartments include balconies or private patio gardens/terraces.

The building is within a secure gated environment with passenger lifts, and each apartment benefits from video door phone entry. And for added peace of mind, Durkan Estates include a full 10-year NHBC warranty, security locks to entrance door and windows and smoke detectors throughout.
