Project information
Durkan completed the construction of a new 6th Form Centre on the 1st floor of an existing building at Charters School in Sunningdale, Ascot. The project also comprised the complete refurbishment of the ground floor underneath the extension.
The new floor has been fitted out to include four seminar rooms, two large ICT suites, one staff office, a meeting room and washrooms. The ground floor has been refurbished for use by the younger students of the school and includes six classrooms, resource areas, a faculty office and staff room.
The new 2-storey building is also connected to the existing school by a series of linking footbridges. The school remained fully operative during term time and work was scheduled to avoid impairing the schools operations. Complementary landscaping was included at the project and Durkan ensured school staff, visitors and students remained protected at all times.
