Project information

Extension works at Tetherdown School, Grand Avenue, Haringey, London N10. The project included the demolition of an existing single storey hall and kitchen to enable the construction of a new three-storey teaching block linked to a curved, four-storey central ‘hub’ building containing the main assembly hall and kitchen. The additional buildings will enable the school to double its intake of students from 210 to 420.

Durkan Limited worked alongside the existing school to ensure that the extension works caused no interruption to school activities. Traditional construction methods were used in the expansion plan featuring a steel frame and concrete shell. The new extension features under-floor heating and a lift for disabled access in line with the recommended DfES standards.
