Affordable Housing
By working openly and effectively with housing associations, local authorities and residents we construct quality, innovative and sustainable homes that exceed our clients’ aspirations, whether for rented housing, sheltered housing, shared ownership, or multi-tenure occupancy.
Our projects range from small infill sites to complex estate regeneration schemes that incorporate retail, community and commercial space such as community centres, sports facilities and offices.
We also have experience in self build schemes – involving residents to help with the construction of their new home.

Residential Refurbishment
For over 45 years Durkan have been working with residents in their homes. We currently carry out major long-term refurbishments, Decent Homes projects and one-off refurbishments.
Durkan’s refurbishment projects have won awards for innovations and best practice. We have vast experience in hostel refurbishment and also specialise in the restoration and conversion of Grade II listed homes. Whenever possible, residents stay in their homes while we undertake work, if this is not possible we look after every aspect of temporary relocation.

Education
Our education experience includes the construction and refurbishment of nurseries, schools, colleges and universities. Active engagement with a great diversity of stakeholders is an essential part of our approach. Minimum disturbance is maintained during each project and safety remains a priority.
