Training

Committed to Training

Employee fulfilment is a key commitment for Durkan and we regularly appraise staff performance and achievement. We offer training opportunities to staff members across all sectors and disciplines to increase their general well-being as well as providing them with the skills and tools necessary to pursue their chosen careers to the best of their abilities.

Durkan support training programmes run by colleges, housing associations and local authorities and have a particular emphasis on under-represented groups such as women, ethnic minorities and older workers.

We were also one of the first contractors to promote training and employment for local residents and in the last year we have provided over 60 construction apprentice placements. We have received commendation for our work with disadvantaged women and care leavers from the Equal Opportunities Commission and in the past 8 years we have trained over 200 women in the industry.
