Durkan awarded Night Shelter contract in Redbridge
Durkan has been awarded a £1.2 million contract to design, refurbish and extend the existing Redbridge Night Shelter in Ilford on behalf of the London Borough of Redbridge. The announcement comes in light of Durkan Limited’s continued commitment to offer a wide range of public sector construction services.

Durkan will undertake the remodelling and refurbishment of the shelter for homeless and vulnerable people by providing new accommodation and a workshop facility around a landscaped garden courtyard to provide 18 single rooms. The project is part of the Government’s Places of Change programme to help improve accommodation, training and employment opportunities for local homeless people. The new centre will provide a focal point for people who use the service and help them to develop new skills and move forward in their lives. The night shelter building is expected to be completed in December 2010.
