Durkan Ltd's ethical working practices gain CCS recognition

Durkan Ltd is celebrating its invitation from the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) to become an Associate Member.  Only those companies who have performed beyond the requirements of the Scheme, in term of cleanliness, environmental awareness and being a good neighbour, are invited to become Associate Member.

The CCS was started in 1997 to promote good practice in the construction industry and is already well regarded. Companies sign up to a voluntary code of conduct, which is adopted by everyone involved on their construction sites. The CCS is a non-profit making and is designed to improve the image of the construction industry as a whole.

Durkan Ltd is proud of its record of ethical and considerate construction and has been working alongside this scheme for some time. The company is always looking to minimise disruption to people living and working close to its building projects, and endeavours to work with local communities to ensure that the building process is a relatively painless one.

Along with Associate Membership comes the right to put the CCS Associate Membership logo on Durkan Ltd hoardings and in advertising. This sends out a powerful and positive image to the industry and the general public.

Robert Clark, Managing Director of Durkan Ltd comments: “We are delighted to be awarded Associate CCS Membership status. We have been working with the CCS for some years now and it’s great that our ethical working policies and our efforts to accommodate the needs of local communities have been rewarded. I see this as recognition of all the hard work that our people have put into making the code of conduct work.”
