Durkan's commitment to health and safety improvement has further been recognised by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents for the fifth year running.

Durkan has been awarded the Gold Medal for Occupational Health & Safety. This Sustain Achievement Award is given in recognition of achieving high standards of Occupational Health & Safety across the business over the last five years. The Gold Medal Award is only awarded to those who achieve four consecutive Gold Awards; previous Gold Awards were achieved in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010.
