Two Durkan projects nominated for Hackney Design Awards 2010

Two of Durkan's projects have been nominated for Hackney Design Awards 2010.

The awards celebrate great design in the borough that incorporate sustainability, innovation, visual amenity and quality. The two projects include Berger Primary School, now one of the most sustainable schools in the UK. The timber structure was precision-engineered off-site and has been designed to hold almost 500 children.

The second project, Hyelm Old Street, included the construction of 125 bedroom units in clusters spread over 2 blocks as well as office space, internet café, gym and roof terraces. The winners will be announced in October.
