Durkan support outstanding building design in Aylesbury Vale

Outstanding building and structural projects across Aylesbury have been recognised at the 25th annual Aylesbury Vale District Council Design Awards.

The ceremony, held on Thursday 29 November at AVDC’s The Gateway Conference Centre, was supported by Durkan and brought together designers, architects, builders and contractors to showcase their excellence.

Nine projects were shortlisted from the nominated schemes before being judged by an expert panel against six key criteria: quality of design/construction, fitness for purpose, sustainability, accessibility, attractiveness and innovation.  To mark the 25th year of the awards, each of the nine shortlisted projects were also included in a People’s Choice award, voted for by the public and presented by Durkan’s Managing Director of Partnerships, Fraser Wells.

In total, six awards were presented on the night:

  • People’s Choice – Brenda’s Way, Aylesbury

Fraser Wells, Managing Director Partnerships, Durkan, said: “Since partnering with AVDC on The Exchange project in the centre of Aylesbury, we increasingly see our role as a supporter of the wider community and the initiatives being implemented by the council. As such, we were delighted to sponsor this important awards scheme once again. It is inspiring to see such innovative and sympathetic design being recognised and we extend our congratulations to all the winners.”
