Our Leadership Team

Durkan’s senior leadership team bring considerable experience and expertise to the business from a diverse range of industries, enabling Durkan to identify and integrate best practices into the business.

Working together and connecting as a united team, the group’s short term focus is to achieve the company 5 year business plan whilst also targeting growth to ensure the success of Durkan for the next 50 years.

Daniel Durkan
Executive Chairman

Danny joined Durkan in 1983, he has developed a broad range of skills while working for the business in Dublin, New York and London.

Danny has successfully led and continues to lead the growth of the business.

Ronan Murphy
Group CEO

Ronan is responsible for the development and implementation of Group strategy. He also oversees all operational activities of Durkan.

He has over 20 years' experience in the property sector having worked with a range of investors and operating businesses.

Paul Kimber
Group Finance Director

Paul is an experienced senior finance professional in the Housebuilding sector having worked with Ernst & Young and the Berkeley Group. He is responsible for all Group financial matters in addition to asset management, IT and HR.

Bill Beyzade
Managing Director Housebuilding

With an outstanding track record in identifying, acquiring, and developing sites for housing, Bill leads Durkan's house building division.

Drawing on his experience with CALA, Laing Homes and Taylor Wimpey, Bill is establishing Durkan's house building team and land acquisition activities, to deliver high quality homes and sustainable communities.

Jim Briggs
Managing Director Construction

Jim joined Durkan over forty years ago and, having since worked across the business, has built up invaluable experience of the whole construction lifecycle.

He now draws on that experience to successfully oversee business development, and operational performance.

Jason Smith
Group Operations Director

With over 20 years in construction technical management, Jason brings his knowledge and experience from Mace and St. James to ensure a collaborative approach and seamless delivery of the Durkan Group operations.

His primary focus is to ensure the continual delivery of quality projects in line with new and modern building methods and to the exacting standards of our clients and homeowners.

Tim Carpenter
Group New Business Director

Tim commenced his career in the industry with Willmott Dixon, concluding with 18 years as Managing Director of their Housing Division. He then joined Mears to establish and develop a new Housing Division which specialised in partnerships with housing associations and local authorities.

Tim leads the bid, estimating, and preconstruction teams to support Durkan’s ambitious growth plans. An early priority has been to broaden the businesses’ customer base and consultant network, while also ensuring we have robust processes within each department. Tim’s extensive relationships in the sector, coupled to his knowledge of ‘modern methods of construction’ and the use of offsite manufacture is also enabling Durkan to develop further in these areas for the benefit of our clients.

Dean Martin
Construction Director

Having joined Durkan as a Contracts Manager, Dean is now responsible for the delivery of all new build and refurbishment contracts.

He ensures all work is carried out with the required safety, quality, cost certainty and satisfaction that Durkan's customers demand.

Davina Andrew
Head of HR

A HR specialist, Davina brings to Durkan over 20 years' experience from a range of business sectors, including NHS, Government and British Transport.

Her wealth of knowledge and proactive approach to driving change through education and training, ensures Durkan's values and culture are reflected across the business.

Robert Thompson
Production Director

Rob has over 20 years’ experience in construction management, having worked with a range of housebuilding and development organisations. In this time, Rob has played a critical role in the delivery of numerous award-winning housing developments across the home counties.

His primary focus at Durkan will be to ensure that our housebuilding sites are managed and delivered to the highest levels of quality, presentation and health & safety management. He will also work to establish the housebuilding brand and build an excellent reputation for quality and customer service within the sector.

Mark Gordon
Health Safety and Environment Director

A health and safety specialist, Mark brings to Durkan over 20 years' experience from a range of development projects, including work with housing associations, across student accommodation schemes and residential care developments.

He now draws on that experience to embed a positive health and safety culture across the business. Mark’s considered approach to upholding high-quality standards through coaching and training opportunities ensures that each division at Durkan is compliant with and implements the latest health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.

Andrew Atkins
Development Director

A chartered surveyor, Andrew has over 25 years’ experience in leading land acquisition, planning and major development projects. As development projects become more nuanced, Andrew’s role at Durkan will see him lead in the delivery of more complex development schemes, often involving partnerships and joint ventures.

Prior to joining Durkan, Andrew spent six years leading the delivery of two new communities at the Olympic Park in Stratford with Places for People.

James Underhill
Sales and Marketing Director

James is responsible for establishing and scaling our new homes and sales & marketing operations within the housebuilding division while also overseeing marketing and PR at group level for Durkan. His proactive approach to implementing core sales and marketing activities ensures that the department is geared up for growth.

He has over 20 years' experience in the property sector having worked with a range of stakeholders on both client side and with agencies as he developed and managed business streams. James’ work also saw him spend almost a decade with the Berkeley Group and Ballymore. He brings forward his ambition, commitment and drive to elevate the services of the Durkan Group.
