Electric House, London

NW2 5HZ

The demolition of an existing building and the design and construction of 25 new build flats, which includes 20 Shared Ownership and five Affordable Rent apartments. The scheme, which is a quarter of a mile from Willesden Green underground station, has been built to Code Level 4 for Sustainable Homes and provides much needed, high quality, affordable housing for local residents.

At ground floor level there is 4,013 square feet of retail space, complete with vehicle access areas, cycle storage, commercial storage and all associated infrastructure and external works.

Electric House received grant funding from the GLA and is built on the site of the former electric goods showroom in Willesden Green. The design has been carefully considered and reflects the original building’s Art Deco roots by incorporating a clock feature and a curved edge to the front of the building. It’s the perfect location; the centre of London can be reached in under half an hour, but the area doesn’t lack in greenery, with many parks to explore for those who want to escape the hubbub of life in the capital.
